Absolutely - you’re in the right place. I built this course from the ground up assuming you know nothing about music at all. We’ll cover everything from the ground up and create from a place of experimentation, relying first and foremost on our ears. Because you may be new to making music… but you’re certainly not new to listening to it.

Absolutely. While there will be some concepts you’re already familiar with, this course draws from all areas of music and audio production, culminating in real life creation and self expression. Your experience will only enhance your depth of understanding and creative freedom.

All you need is a working computer and a pair of headphones. That’s all. We’ll be doing everything on the fully-featured Ableton free trial. The only purchase I’ll recommend in the first part of the course is one trial month of a service called Splice - which also only costs a few dollars.

I’m going to teach you Ableton Live in this course. It’s my software of choice and the choice of many of the best producers in the world. Learning it straight away will give you an immense amount of creative freedom going forward.

Too many people spend months watching videos and agonising before they even create anything. That’s why I’ve designed this course so that if you really want to, you can lock in and complete the Main-Quest in ONE DAY. Otherwise, to leave more space to absorb information, complete Side-Quests and experiment along the way, the course should take you about a week. After you’re finished though, you’ll likely to refer back to clarify ideas and find more places to extend your learning for months to come.
